Product description:
The Pelican PS3 Charge Station is a docking station designed to charge up to 4 PS3 controllers simultaneously in under 2 1/2 hours.

Manufacturer Website : http://www.pdp.com/prod_detail.php?sku=PL6328
UK purchasing options : http://www.reevoo.com/reviews/mpn/pelican/ps3
Price : £19.99

AngelicSpirit says:
The Pelican PS3 Charging Station, also known as the "Energizer" station, is one of a number of accessories on the market that allows you charge your PS3 controllers away from your PS3, thereby freeing up those precious PS3 USB ports for other Playstation goodies such as the EyeToy, USB flash drives, keyboards etc.

Although it's priced slightly higher than other alternatives the station is designed to hold 2 official Sony controllers in the main unit whilst providing 2 additional USB charging ports for other devices. These ports can be used to charge virtually any device that uses a USB charging connector with the only exception being Blackberries as they have slightly different power requirements. I’ve tested it successfully with a variety of mobile phones, other PS3 accessories (like the Gioteck EX-01 headset), even a silly fluffy gaming for girls thing... Fit battery pack and all charged without any problems.

The Pelican charger will fully charge a PS3 controller in around 2 1/2 hours and during this process the associated dock will illuminate red. Once fully charged the dock light will change to Green and the unit will stop charging the device therefore preventing premature battery degradation.

Aside from it’s intelligent charging setup what sets it apart from other units on the market is its looks. It’s sleek black and silver lines compliment the PS3 perfectly and the spare USB charging ports are very useful. Whilst more expensive than other alternatives the stylish design, intelligent charging and spare ports make this a good choice when looking for a PS3 controller charger.

Score 9/10

I might get one of these after your review. I have a small dock for charging but would be nice to have 2 controllers always charged. Nice and tidy looking too.

Apart from the price, which is high for charging stations (you can get a charging dock on Amazon for as little as £6, and any old USB charging cable will work if plugged into the PS3), I think they're great. I have 2 of them, and they're well worth the investment.

I've noticed recently that PDP have gone through a rebranding, and changed the name from Pelican to Energizer (I think they have a tie up with Duracell, hence the name), so finding them might be a bit tricky. PC World has started to stock the Energizer version, but as far as I can tell, apart from the name, they're identical.

:okay: I have had one of these for a while and i love it. works great, looks great, its just great.

keeps your set up looking neat and tidy. The only problem i have had a few times, is when i have taken a control out to find it not charged even when the light was green. :nono: (luckly the other one was so i could still game.) i had to switch the whole thing off and back on to get it to charge, pulling the control out and back in gig not work. just thought i would let you know this, just incase you have the same problem.
i agree with the 9/10 given
